A lube and tire technician performs routine vehicle maintenance, including changing engine oil and filters, rotating tires, checking and topping off fluids, and performing minor repairs like replacing air filters or wipers. Key duties involve maintaining vehicle lubrication and tire health, while essential skills include attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, basic computer use, and good communication.
Key Responsibilities
Oil Changes & Lubrication: Perform engine oil and oil filter changes and lubricate moving parts of vehicles.
Tire Services: Inspect, repair, balance, and rotate tires; check tire pressure and perform wheel alignments.
Fluid Checks & Maintenance: Inspect and top off automotive fluids such as transmission, brake, and coolant.
Minor Repairs: Replace air filters, windshield wipers, and light bulbs.
Vehicle Inspections: Conduct visual inspections to identify potential issues and recommend additional service.
Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and keep tools, equipment, and the shop environment organized and clean.
Record Keeping: Document maintenance activities for tracking purposes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of automotive systems, familiarity with hand tools, and basic use of diagnostic equipment.
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work efficiently, and excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent, and some formal training or experience is beneficial.
Physical Stamina: The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to bend, crouch, and lift.
Other Requirements
Valid driver’s license, clean drivers abstract and own transportation to and from work is required.
Ability to work Mon – Friday 8-5 (Full Time Hours)
